The LPA 56B acts as an in-process strip & seal inspection system that captures a complete profile image of the wire end as it passes on-the-fly through the sensing window comparing each production part to a learned reference profile of the wire. This method ensures that every wire is within specified tolerance and detects quality problems such as strip length errors, pulled strands, improper seal orientation or position, and splayed strands prior to the terminal being crimped to the wire.
“We are very pleased with the recognition of our LPA 56B WireScan system as an approved product for use in Delphi manufacturing applications,” says Michael Reeve, VP of Strategic Sales and Business Development at OES. “The LPA 56B is an advancing technology for OES and it is important to have met the stringent requirements for operational capability expected by Delphi.”
